Plaid Brooches are the traditional method of fastening the plaid, cloak or shawl at the shoulder. The Penannular is the most ancient style and at one time they became so exaggerated in size and design that a law was passed in Scotland forbidding the pin to protrude beyond the shoulder! An extensive range of jewellery MADE IN SCOTLAND from Old fashioned Pewter with a plated finish of Palladium (which won’t scratch or tarnish). Inspiration for the designs is taken from many traditional Scottish elements suchthe Thistle, (adopted over 700 years ago as the emblem of Scotland).
